The CEHP Team and UNUSA Peduli Support RSUD Peusangan Aceh Health Services with Clean Water and Starlink Technology.

Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA), through its UNUSA Peduli and CEHP teams, distributed humanitarian aid to RSUD Peusangan Raya Hospital in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) to support the continuity of healthcare services following the floods that hit the region in late November. The aid provided included a clean water installation complete with a reservoir, a generator as a backup power source, Starlink-based internet services, and medicines. The facility is intended to address the urgent needs of the hospital, which serves as both a medical service center and a primary disaster response post. Ahmad Syafiuddin, the Executive Chair of UNUSA Peduli, stated that the assistance represents the university's commitment to serving the community, particularly in emergency disaster situations. He emphasized that the type of assistance is tailored to field needs based on coordination with the joint disaster task force and the hospital.

The Director of RSUD Peusangan Raya Hospital, Dr. Agusnaidi, received the aid along with the hospital's management. The handover was witnessed by Dr. Zumrida, Chairman of the Bireuen Branch of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), who also serves as Head of the Joint Disaster Task Force. Dr. Zumrida explained that RSUD Peusangan Raya Hospital plays a strategic role in addressing the impact of the flooding in Bireuen Regency. In addition to providing medical services to affected victims, the hospital also functions as a coordination post and temporary evacuation site. Therefore, the availability of clean water, backup electricity, and internet access are crucial for maintaining the operation of healthcare services. Meanwhile, Dr. Dara Farasina, Head of the Service Section at RSUD Peusangan Raya Hospital, stated that the hospital experienced limited clean water supplies following the flood.

The situation is exacerbated by the increasing need for water, as residents remain displaced within the hospital grounds and the ongoing restoration of mud-damaged facilities. As part of this initiative, the Unusa Peduli team, along with hospital management, directly inspected several locations requiring clean water installation support. It is hoped that with these facilities operational, RSUD Peusangan Raya Hospital can resume optimal healthcare services in the post-flood situation.
