Inauguration of Clean Water and Environmentally Friendly Waste Treatment System at Pesantren Bustanul Ulum

Pamekasan, July 26, 2024 - Pondok Pesantren Bustanul Ulum in Pamekasan has inaugurated two innovative systems that aim to improve the quality of life of students and the surrounding community. The Clean Water Treatment System (UNUSA-Water) and the Smokeless Environmentally Friendly Waste Treatment System (UNUSA-Incinerator) were officially launched on Thursday. This inauguration is the result of collaboration between several parties through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabya (UNUSA), Universitas Islam Madura (UIM) and Pondok Pesantren Bustanul Ulum, together provided significant support in realizing this project.

UNUSA-Water is a clean water treatment system designed to provide safe and potable water for the students. Meanwhile, UNUSA-Incinerator is an environmentally friendly waste treatment system that produces no smoke, thus reducing air pollution and keeping the boarding school environment clean. In the inauguration ceremony, various community leaders, pondok pesantren administrators, the rector and vice rector of UNUSA, representatives of Madura Islamic University, and representatives of PT Pelindo Petikemas who contributed to this program were present. They expressed their pride in the achievement of this project which is expected to be an example for other educational institutions in their efforts to protect the environment.

“With UNUSA-Water and UNUSA-Incinerator, we hope to have a big positive impact on the health and well-being of the students and the surrounding community. This is a step forward towards a cleaner and healthier environment,” said a representative from Pelindo Terminal Petikemas.With the inauguration of these two systems, Pondok Pesantren Bustanul Ulum further strengthens its commitment in supporting the Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) program and preserving the environment.
