On December 28 2024,
the Center for Environmental Health of Islamic Boarding School (CEHP) Team at
Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya, together with CT ARSA representatives,
conducted a site survey and water quality inspection at the Sunan Muria Al-Muslim
Orphanage Foundation in Mulyosari Village, Semarang. This activity was welcomed
by the caretaker of the orphanage, Ustadz Muslih, and local residents, where 50
residents of the orphanage depend on river water for bathing, washing and
cooking. Survey results show that the river water has a fresh taste with a
turbidity level of 2.33 , TDS 324, and pH 7.83. CEHP indicates that the TDS
level suitable for drinking water needs is between 50 – 300. Therefore, river
water at this location will be pre-treated and processed using UNUSA-Water
water filters to make it suitable for consumption. This initiative aims to
increase community access to clean and healthy water.
