Telkom East Java and Nur Sedekah Umat Foundation Plan Clean Water Installation for Islamic Boarding Schools in East Java
Telkom East Java together with Nur Sedekah Umat Foundation conducted a coordination visit with related parties to discuss the plan to install clean water supply systems in several Islamic boarding schools in East Java. This program will utilize the UNUSA-Water water treatment technology developed by the University of Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA), as part of an effort to improve the quality of life and health of students through access to clean water.
This discussion marks the first step of a strategic collaboration between Telkom East Java and Yayasan Nur Sedekah Umat in supporting the provision of clean water in the pesantren environment, which has been facing the challenge of limited access to safe and healthy water. UNUSA-Water technology that has proven effective in several Islamic boarding schools in East Java will be applied to ensure that the water produced meets hygiene standards and can be used for the daily needs of students and pesantren managers.
This program is in line with previous initiatives that have successfully installed clean water treatment plants in pesantren in the East Java region, such as those carried out by UNUSA and other partners. With the support of Telkom East Java and Nur Sedekah Umat Foundation, it is expected that more pesantren can enjoy the benefits of sustainable access to clean water, while strengthening the empowerment of pesantren communities in water resource management.
This step also shows the commitment of various parties in supporting the education and welfare of pesantren through appropriate technology innovations that are environmentally friendly and oriented towards sustainability. The plan for clean water installations in East Java pesantrens is expected to be realized in the near future, providing a positive impact for thousands of students and pesantren communities in the region.
