Pesantren Asshiddiqiyah 8 Sumatra Selatan Implements UNUSA-Water as Water Filters Thanks to Support from YDSF and UNUSA
Pesantren Asshiddiqiyah 8 is located on Jl. Palembang-Jambi KM 170, Simpang Tungkal Village, Tungkal Jaya District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) is under the leadership of Ustadz Anas Rifai Syadzili. It was founded in 2006. It has 250 students. Pesantren Asshiddiqiyah 8 Sumatra Selatan now has access to clean water after installing a UNUSA-Water water filter. This program is a collaboration between Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) and the Yayasan Dana Sosial Al-Falah (YDSF), as part of an effort to improve the environmental quality and health of the students.
The water source used is a drilled well located on the Pesantren grounds. Water from the drilled well is then channeled through a UNUSA-Water filter, which uses advanced technology to filter out various impurities and contaminants. This filtration process ensures that the water leaving the filter meets hygiene and safety standards for consumption. The leadership of the Pesantren Asshiddiqiyah 8 expressed their appreciation for the assistance provided by YDSF and UNUSA. "The installation of this water filter has greatly assisted us in providing healthy drinking water for all students. This certainly supports the health and comfort of daily learning activities," he said.
YDSF explained that this funding is a form of support for the provision of
clean water facilities in educational settings. This program also aligns with
YDSF's mission to improve the quality of life for communities through access to
safe and adequate drinking water. With the installation of the UNUSA-Water
water filter, Pesantren Asshiddiqiyah 8 Sumatra Selatan hopes to serve as a
model for other educational institutions implementing clean water-based health
programs. Students and residents can now enjoy safe drinking water directly
from a properly filtered borehole.
