YDSF and UNUSA-Water Provide Clean Water in Pesantren Madinatul Akhyar Bengkulu
Pesantren Madinatul Akhyar Bengkulu is located in RT 05, Simpang Tiga Village, North Kaur District, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province. This Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) is under the leadership of Ustadz Yulisasman. Established in 2021, in 2025, the UNUSA-Water as water filter installation was successfully carried out at Pesantren Madinatul Akhyar Bengkulu. This project received funding support from the Yayasan Dana Sosial Al-Falah (YDSF) with the aim of providing a source of clean, drinkable water for the students at the Islamic boarding school.
The system works by pumping borehole water to the UNUSA-Water filter device, then the clean filtered water is channeled to the storage tank. The clean water is ready to be distributed according to the needs of the Islamic boarding school. The UNUSA-Water water filter is equipped with 3 Filter Tubes, 6 Filter Spoons, Ultrafiltration and is supported by UV light as a bacterial disinfection, so it is able to purify water contaminated with dangerous minerals and produce healthy water for drinking by all students and residents of the Islamic boarding school. The installation of this filter is a strategic step in improving the quality of life of the Islamic boarding school community, especially in terms of health and water cleanliness. It is hoped that this program can provide long-term benefits as well as being an example of the application of simple technology in the Islamic boarding school environment.
The Islamic boarding school
leadership expressed their deep appreciation to YDSF and UNUSA for their
financial support. They also hoped that this collaboration would continue to
support the sustainable provision of clean water facilities at other Islamic
boarding schools in the Bengkulu region.
