UNUSA-Water as Water Filters Arrive at Pesantren Darul Faizin in Kubu Raya, Transforming Yellow, Iron-Containing Water into Clear Water with Support from CTARSA ZISWAF and Bank Mega Syariah

Pesantren Darul Faizin Assyafi'iyyah is located on Kakap street Pal 13, Gg. Pertanian 2, Sungai Kakap Village, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. Pesantren Darul Faizin Assyafi'iyyah is an Islamic educational institution founded in 2022 by KH. Fauzi Kholil. This Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) promotes education that integrates religious education and general education, aiming to provide comprehensive learning for students. Pesantren Darul Faizin recently installed a UNUSA-Water as water filter system to improve the quality of clean water used daily by students and boarding school administrators. Previously, water from wells or rivers around the Islamic boarding school contained high levels of iron, making it cloudy yellow, which not only disrupted daily activities but also had the potential to harm health if used in the long term. With the installation of the UNUSA-Water filter, the water that was initially cloudy has now become crystal clear, providing great benefits in supporting the cleanliness and health of the Islamic boarding school environment.

The procurement of the filtration system is the result of a collaboration between Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) and funding from ZISWAF CTARSA with Bank Mega Syariah, which is concerned with improving the quality of life of the community through social and religious responsibility programs. The funds distributed are focused on providing access to clean water in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), especially for children as the nation's future generation who need the facilities to support healthy living. The success of this project is a clear demonstration of the synergy between social institutions and financial institutions in promoting sustainable development that is health and environmentally conscious.

The UNUSA-Water as water filter itself is specifically designed to remove excess iron content and various impurities that cause cloudy yellow water. Using modern filtration technology, this system is able to produce water that is not only visually clear, but also free from odors, metallic tastes, and other harmful contaminants. This is very significant in improving the quality of drinking water, cooking, and sanitation needs at the Islamic boarding school. The head of the Pesantren KH. Fauzi Kholil and students said that the presence of this tool is very helpful, because they can now use clean water more optimally without worrying about the side effects of iron.

Going forward, the installation of this water filter is expected to serve as an example for other Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) and communities around Kubu Raya to implement similar solutions to address the frequent water quality issues. This effort also aligns with the vision of ZISWAF CTARSA and Bank Mega Syariah to strengthen social and environmental sustainability through affordable and widely beneficial technological innovation. It's a small step that has a big impact, especially in creating a healthy, productive, and comfortable Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environment for all its residents.
