Survey of Pesantren Locations in Konawe: Collaborative Efforts by ZISWAF CTARSA and CEHP UNUSA Provide Clean and Healthy Water
The Director of ZISWAF CTARSA, Mr. M. Wahib, MH, together with the Chairman of CEHP UNUSA, Mr. Achmad Syafiuddin, Ph.D. On November 6-7, conducted a site survey at two Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The two Pesantren are Nurul Huda and Pesantren Minhajut Thullab. This survey is part of a flagship program that focuses on providing clean water for Pesantren, which aims to overcome the problem of dirty water which has been an obstacle in supporting the daily needs of students and managing Pesantren.
During the field survey, the team inspected and tested water quality at various sources around the Pesantren. This water quality testing was crucial for determining the best-quality water source, ensuring that the water processed and distributed through the filtration system meets high standards of cleanliness and safety. Selecting the highest-quality water source is also expected to ensure a sustainable supply of clean, healthy water for all Pesantren residents.
This water filtration system installation program is designed not only to meet sanitation needs but also to meet drinking water standards and support Islamic boarding school activities, which are highly dependent on clean water availability. With a modern and efficient filtration system, the Pesantren is expected to provide a healthier environment and raise students' awareness of the importance of sanitation and water quality. This also represents a concrete step in supporting the health of the Pesantren community through appropriate environmental technology.
Mr. M. Wahib, MH as the head of ZISWAF CTARSA said that this survey is a manifestation of a joint commitment between the ZISWAF CTARSA institution and CEHP UNUSA in addressing the problem of clean water access in rural areas and Islamic boarding schools. Meanwhile, the Chairman of CEHP UNUSA, Mr. Achmad Syafiuddin, Ph.D., added that proper and healthy water quality is the main foundation in creating a conducive and healthy educational environment. With good cooperation, it is hoped that this project will not only stop at the survey stage, but continue to the implementation and maintenance of a sustainable water filtration system.
The survey also involved intensive coordination with
local Islamic boarding school administrators to ensure the technical and social
suitability of installing the water filtration system. The program's primary
hope is that all students and community members will have access to quality
drinking water, significantly improving their quality of life and learning
experience. This initiative also serves as inspiration for other Islamic
boarding schools and communities in Konawe to support the use of environmentally
friendly technologies in clean water management.
