Unpleasant Odors: CEHP Designs Organic Waste Management Solution at Tangerang National Commodity Market
Tanggerang, November 22, 2025. CEHP Chairman Achmad Syafiuddin and his partner, Ms. Vickie, visited the Tangerang National Commodity Market to directly assess the waste management situation at the site. During the visit, the team found that the majority of the waste piled up at the Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TPS) was organic waste, such as rotting vegetables, fish scraps, and meat scraps, which were not properly managed. This condition caused an unpleasant odor that disrupted the comfort of the market's surroundings.
The CEHP team's observations and surveys concluded that organic waste
management at the Tangerang National Commodity Market remains suboptimal,
potentially negatively impacting the surrounding community and the environment.
The untreated disposal of organic waste, mixed with other waste, leads to odor
pollution and worsens the cleanliness of the market area. These findings are a
key focus for CEHP, which is working to develop environmentally friendly and
effective management solutions.
As a follow-up to the survey results, CEHP and its partners will plan and
initiate an integrated organic waste management program in the Tangerang
National Commodity Market area. This program aims to reduce the accumulation of
organic waste at the landfill (TPS) by utilizing the environmentally friendly
UNUSA-Incinerator smokeless combustion technology. The combustion residue is a
liquid solution that can be used as plant fertilizer. This step is expected to
eliminate unpleasant odors and improve the market's environmental quality and
the well-being of the surrounding community.
