UNUSA-Water's Water Filter Innovation Advances to the Finals of INOVBOYO 2025

Surabaya, November 24, 2025 – The UNUSA-Water as water filter innovation developed to treat household wastewater has successfully reached the final round of the INOVBOYO 2025 program. This success marks an important achievement for the research team from Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) who continue to be committed to providing environmentally friendly technological solutions for domestic waste management. With this achievement, the UNUSA-Water innovation has the opportunity to advance to the next stage, namely a live presentation before a panel of judges to receive further support in its development and implementation.

 

In the presentation stage held at the Surabaya Government Building, the Chairman of the Center for Environmental Health of Pesantren (CEHP UNUSA), Achmad Syafiuddin, Ph.D. Directly explained the advantages and innovations of UNUSA-Water technology. In his presentation, Achmad explained the function and benefits of this filter tool which is able to process household liquid waste efficiently and environmentally friendly so that it can improve the quality of wastewater before being discharged into the surrounding environment. This presentation received serious attention from the judges, because this innovation is considered very potential in overcoming the problem of domestic waste which is still a challenge in urban and rural areas.


The presence of the UNUSA-Water innovation in the INOVBOYO 2025 program is not only a source of pride for UNUSA as an educational and research institution, but also a concrete step in supporting environmental conservation efforts. This program opens opportunities for local innovations to develop and obtain the necessary funding to maximize their social and ecological benefits. With support from various parties, it is hoped that the UNUSA-Water filter can soon be widely implemented, helping communities manage household wastewater responsibly and maintaining environmental sustainability.
